  1. What should I expect if I attend a church service? – On Sundays at 11:00, we all gather together for worship. The song portion of our service lasts for about 20 minutes. After the song service the young people are dismissed for Children’s Church while the remainder of the congregationlistens to Bible preaching. Our service last approximately an hour.
  2. Is it okay to bring my children into the Worship service? – Yes, this is not a problem. Some young children may find it difficult to leave their parents in an unfamiliar setting. We hope that families who begin to attend our church will come to appreciate the value of their children developing close friendships with their peers in the context of the local church.
  3. What version of Bible the do you use? We teach and preach from the King James Bible. We believe that for the English speaking people, it is the inspired, preserved Word of God.
  4. What type of music can I expect to hear? – We sing many of the traditional hymns and songs of the faith. While I would not describe our music as formal, we abstain from contemporary music. We regularly sing songs such as; Amazing Grace, The Old Rugged Cross, There is Power in the Blood, To God Be the Glory, etc…
  5. How big is Good News Independent BaptistChurch? – At the time of this writing, we have any where from 45-50 people who attend on Sunday morning.
  6. What type of preaching will I hear? -Preaching is the center of the worship service. We believe that expository verse by verse preaching is the most effective method of teaching and preaching the Word of God.
  7. Do you have a youth program? – Yes, we have Sunday School, Children’s Church, and Patch the Pirate Club. We adjust the material to fit all age groups and incorporate the older children to help teach the younger ones.
  8. How long has Good News Independent BaptistChurch existed? – Good News Independent BaptistChurch was started in 1966by Bro. Ollie Manning. It is currently pastored by Dr Gary (Bobby) Murrell.
  9. Who leads the church? – While we believe that the church itself is the final authority in all matters of church government, we realize God has given us a pastor to lead us. He is assisted by the deacons of the church.
  10. Where did the pastor attend Bible college? – Dr Gary (Bobby) Murrellattended Tabernacle Bible College in Greenville, South Carolina, where he received a Bachelors degree in Theology. He also attended Clarksville Theological Seminary in Clayton, NC, where he received a Masters degree in Theology and Doctors degree in Theology.
